Absolutely! Enjoy some wine, a mimosa, coffee or tea. Cheers!

How long does a blowout take?
The average blowout takes 45 minutes, but can take more or less time depending on your desired results.

How can I book an appointment?
You can book online or call us at 305-603-7441.

Will my hair be washed during my appointment?
Yes, washing your hair is included in a blowout service. A blowout with us starts with a shampoo and conditioner specific for your hair type and need. We customize the products for each client since all hair is different. We apply and massage the products in to be sure you get the most out of it.

Can I bring in my wig to be washed, dried, and styled? Is there a fee?
Yes, we'd love to wash and style your wig! We do consider this a blowout service.

Can I book an appointment for just a braid?
It depends. Please call and check for availability. For Dry Styling braid services, please see the WHAT IS A DRY STYLE section further down on this page.

I have sensitive skin and can only use certain products. Can I bring them with me for my appointments?
Absolutely. If you'd like to give our products a try, all are paraben, phthalate and sulfate free.

What type of hair products do you use?
We use a few different lines of hair care products at our salon. The main shampoo and conditioner line is Davines.  Davines has been a leader in creating products that are made from natural sources while also maintaining an Earth friendly manufacturing system.  Davines is formulated without parabens, sulfates (SLS or SLES), mineral oil and petrolatum. They are all vegetarian, cruelty-free, gluten-free and color-safe. In addition, we also use Goldwell Kerasilk, R&Co, and Hotheads.

What is a dry style?
A dry style is when you come in with your hair already washed and completely dry and we’ll take it from there! We’ll add curls, waves, volume, whatever we need to achieve the look you’re going for.

Do you offer blowouts for children?
Yes, you can book a Sugar ‘n Spice blowout for $30 for ages 10 and under.

What's your cancellation policy?
We understand things happen, but we appreciate your consideration in letting us know when you can no longer make your appointment. A four hour cancellation notice is required or you will be subject to a cancellation fee. Please call the salon 305-603-7441or text 786-855-6785 to let us know.

What if I no-show?
It really is a bummer when clients don’t call to let us know. It prevents the stylist from working for that hour, and also prevents another client from being serviced. Please be advised that if you no-show an appointment, you will be charged a 50% cancellation fee.

Are deposits required for appointments?
All bookings require a 50% deposit. They are always refunded if you give us a four hour cancellation notice.

Extensions

What's your extensions policy?
While we happily service clients with extensions, Live Blow Dry is not responsible for extensions that come loose or are damaged during the wash or blowout. We recognize that extensions are expensive and delicate; we will be as careful as possible in handling them.

To accommodate for the extra time and skill that extensions take to style, we charge $10 to all clients with "sew-in", "tape-in", and "beaded” extensions.

What type of hair is used for tape-in hair extensions?
Extensions are 100% Remy human hair, meaning the cuticle is intact and the hair is placed with the cuticle all facing the same direction. This ensures that there is no matting or tangling. We currently use Bellami and Hotheads for tape-in services.

How long will the extensions last?
This will vary based upon the individual client, but normally, tape-in extensions will last 6 to 10 weeks depending upon your hair growth. They can be retaped several times so the hair is reusable.

Can you iron, curl or blow dry the hair extensions?
Yes, these hair extensions can be heat styled and dried with a blow dryer. We do not recommend that you sit under a dryer while wearing Hotheads hair extensions. Also be careful not to concentrate any heat close to the tape tabs. Concentrated heat applied to the tab can make the adhesive tacky.

What products should be used for washing and styling my extensions?
We recommend using gentle products that do not contain alcohol or oil. Heavy conditioning products should not be applied to the roots of the hair near the scalp but should be used only from the middle of the hair shaft down to the ends. We can recommend products at your appointment that will extend the life of your hair extensions. Call us to make an appointment at (305) 603-7441.

Keratin

Who is the best candidate for keratin smoothing treatment?
Mostly anyone is a good candidate for the keratin smoothing treatment. It is effective on all hair types including: thick, coarse, dry, chemically damaged, straight, wavy and curly. This professional service will make the hair healthier as it smoothes the cuticle and eliminates frizz and creates shine. It will also speed up drying time.

Can I still receive a keratin smoothing treatment if my hair is highlighted or colored?
Yes, the keratin smoothing treatment works great with highlighted and colored hair. It will enhance the color, eliminate frizz and make the hair look healthier overall.

Will the keratin smoothing treatment reduce my hair's volume?
This depends on the keratin treatment that is used. We currently have four different keratin products. Your stylist will complete a consultation and advise you on the best product for your desired look. It is possible to keep your volume after a keratin treatment.

How long will the keratin smoothing treatment last?
The results will vary depending on the individual's hair type and how the hair is maintained. Normal results last for up to 12 weeks. The wave can return sooner, although it will still be easier to blow dry. It is also essential to use the proper support products.

Can you apply the keratin smoothing treatment directly on top of other relaxers or perms?
Absolutely. The keratin smoothing treatment works great on chemically treated and damaged hair. The proteins and nutrients help to seal the cuticle and leave the hair looking healthy. Please note that damaged hair is known to lose the benefits of keratin quicker than healthy hair.

Will I be able to have my color done on the same day as my keratin smoothing treatment?
We recommend one week between each service. Please be advised that the color can sometimes lighten from the keratin/botox.

What steps can I take to prolong the life of my keratin smoothing treatment?
The most important thing you can do is use the appropriate aftercare product line that your salon or stylist offers. The more often you wash your hair, the less time your treatment will last so you may want to try to wash your hair around two times per week if possible.

Will swimming in the ocean or pool compromise my keratin smoothing treatment?
Swimming in the ocean or pool is fine, but the life of your treatment may be compromised if you swim regularly. A leave-in serum or conditioner is a great product to apply before swimming to protect the hair from the elements such as chlorine and salt in the water.

How long do I need to wait to wash my hair after the keratin smoothing treatment?
Each keratin product has different instructions. Your stylist will advise you proper care techniques.

Am I still a candidate for the keratin smoothing treatment if I am platinum blonde?
Yes. Your stylist has been trained on how to perform a keratin smoothing treatment and has learned to turn the heat of the flat iron down to 380-400 degrees depending on the condition of your hair.

Is the keratin smoothing treatment permanent or will it grow out?
The treatment gradually washes out but will leave behind the smoothing results on the treated hair. The new hair growing will be your normal hair and may require a root touch-up keratin to match.

Can the keratin smoothing treatment be performed on clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding?
Since there have not been any studies or tests on the possible effects, we recommend to err on the side of caution and not perform the service on pregnant clients. Clients should get their doctor's approval which is up to your discretion.
